John Orton focuses most of his practice on municipal law and tort law. John has represented counties, cities, villages and towns, as well as individuals and developers, in a wide variety of municipal matters, for more than 20 years. John has also represented a wide variety of clients in litigation (plaintiffs and defendants, individual and insurance companies), in product liability cases, auto accident cases, medical malpractice cases, construction cases, and land use cases.

The Personal Side
John is married to Catherine (also a lawyer in this firm) and together they have 3 children. John is an avid hunter, and especially enjoys hunting ducks in the sloughs and swamps of the Wisconsin River. John has been active in youth sports, by serving as a basketball coach, and by helping to establish tax exempt status for the local hockey club and the High School athletic booster club.
