John Orton divides his practice between civil litigation and municipal law. In the civil litigation area, Attorney Orton represents persons who have suffered personal injuries in auto accidents, truck accidents, motorcycle accidents, or other accidents occuring at home, work, or play. John also represents people in a wide variety of other civil litigation matters such as constructon disputes, land disputes, and insurance disputes.
In the municipal law area, Attorney Orton has represented and continues to represent several cities, villages, and townships in a wide variety of municipal matters such as zoning, land use and development matters, annexations and boundary issues, easements and rights-of-way, ordinance drafting and codification, special assessments and condemnation issues.
The Personal Side
John is married to Catherine (also a lawyer in this firm) and together they have 3 children. John is an avid hunter, and especially enjoys hunting ducks in the sloughs and swamps of the Wisconsin River. John has been active in youth sports, by serving as a basketball coach, and by helping to establish tax exempt status for the local hockey club and the High School athletic booster club.
